Casting your ballots correctly in Beverly Hills on March 3

BEVERLY HILLS - With the municipal Election Set for Tuesday, March 3, here are a few reminders about how to ensure that your vote counts.

Three Beverly Hills City Council seats are open for the municipal election to be held on Tuesday, March 3. Registered voters can vote for up to three candidates for the City Council, in addition to the City Treasurer position and yes or no on Measure P, a business tax initiative.

Beverly Hills is governed by a five-member City Council. General municipal elections are held on the first Tuesday in March of odd-numbered years. Either two or three candidates are elected at large to serve four-year terms.

Each March the Council meets and chooses one of its members as mayor and one as vice-mayor to serve for the following year. The mayor is the presiding officer of the Council.

Voters will also be able to choose members of the board of trustees of the Los Angeles Community College District. The ballot consists of two ballot cards. Both sides of both cards should be marked in order to complete the ballot.
