City Manager shuns additional payment
At a recent City Council meeting, City Manager Rod Wood made the following statement: “As we face the most uncertain times and the huge budget challenges facing our city, state and nation and the very difficult times so many of our citizens are bearing, I wanted to inform the Council that I shall not seek the annual performance compensation allowed for completing all of the goals you gave me for this past year. Nor shall I seek the annual cost of living I am annually provided. While it is not consequential to the size of our projected deficit, I feel it is my obligation to set this example by making a personal commitment to do my part to reduce the financial impacts on the City’s budget.”
